Associated British Ports (ABP), one of the biggest commercial landowners in the UK has announced the appointment of Tim Hook as Lead Asset Manager. Joining ABP’s expanding property team at the Port of Southampton, Tim is responsible for identifying new business opportunities through managing and building relationships with new and existing ABP customers and for property asset management and development projects.
Tim joins ABP from RSS Global and brings a wealth of experience in developing strategies to meet the needs of tenants and supporting them in growing their businesses whilst maximising the use of available land and buildings.
Ian Henderson, Head of Property for ABP, said: We are developing our property function to better to support our customers. The Property Asset Manager is not the only new role we’ve created within our team; we are focusing on enhancing three core areas: our already established Estate Management team, Property Asset Management and Property Development. This is in turn supported centrally with Master Planning, Building Surveying and Property Operations. Each function comes with its own responsibility and focuses on providing a better experience for our tenants, driving growth for their business, and developing the property portfolio to make the best use of the property and land available.”
Based in ABP’s Southampton Office, Tim’s newly created role will strengthen the company’s property capabilities and bolster its portfolio of new business opportunities.
Tim Hook, Property Asset Manager, said: I am pleased to join ABP at this exciting time as we drive the property focus on tenants’ needs and requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for me to be part of a dynamic property strategy that will deliver projects to future-proof sustainable growth for our tenants, customers, and ABP.”
The ABP Property team seeks to broaden its reach and appeal to new clients. At the Port of Southampton in the Western Docks, ABP has land available to lease and is developing land at ABP Solent Gateway; 21 acres will be available from September 2025. ABP also seeks to work with local developers and authorities to provide waterfront access for the local community and visitors to the City, which is why the company is working closely with Nicolas James Group on their plans to develop Town Quay.
